Overview

The Lions' Obelisk is a 19th-century stone monument situated in Copou Park in Iași, Romania. The structure features a tall stone obelisk resting on the backs of four carved lions. Travellers visit to view one of the city's early public monuments while walking through the park grounds.

Getting There

From central Iași, you can reach Copou Park by taking a local tram or bus heading north, taking roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Walking from the city centre takes about 30 to 40 minutes along Bulevardul Carol I.

Set aside 10 to 20 minutes to view the monument itself. Additional time can be spent exploring the surrounding pathways.

When to Visit

Daylight hours from spring to autumn offer the best conditions. The surrounding park tends to get crowded on sunny weekend afternoons, so weekday mornings are better for a quiet visit.
