Little Lafatscher (Kleiner Lafatscher) is a 2,636-meter mountain peak in the Gleirsch-Halltal range of the Karwendel Alps, standing west of the Lafatscher Pass near Innsbruck, Austria. Alpine hikers visit for elevation and open views across the limestone range.

Getting There

From central Innsbruck, travel northeast toward Absam and the Halltal valley entrance. From the valley floor, the climb takes roughly four hours on foot. Hikers starting closer from Hallerangeralm or Hallerangerhaus can reach the summit in about three hours.

Time to Allow

Budget a full day—around 7 to 9 hours—for a round trip from the valley trailhead. If hiking from the nearby alpine huts, allow 5 to 6 hours total.

When to Visit

Visit between summer and early autumn when high-elevation paths are mostly clear of snow. Start early in the morning to maximize daylight and avoid afternoon storms. Trails see steady use on sunny weekends but do not experience heavy overcrowding.
