Golra Sharif Railway Museum
Located at the Golra Sharif railway station on the outskirts of Islamabad, this museum preserves the history of Pakistan Railways. It houses a collection of vintage locomotives, old railway carriages, and various artifacts from the region's rail transport era. Visitors go here to view the evolution of steam and diesel engines and to see the architecture of a historic station.
Getting There
The museum is situated away from the main city center. The most practical way to reach it is by hiring a taxi or using a ride-sharing app from central Islamabad. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 30 to 50 minutes.
Visit Duration
Most visitors spend approximately 1.5 to 3 hours exploring the outdoor tracks and the indoor exhibits. This allows enough time to walk through the stationary trains and view the displayed equipment.
