Kadurugoda Vihara

Kadurugoda Vihara is an ancient Buddhist site located on the Jaffna Peninsula. Visitors go here to see the archaeological remains of stupas and explore the grounds to understand the Buddhist history of the northern region of Sri Lanka.

The site is located outside the main Jaffna city center. The most common way to reach it is by hiring a tuk-tuk or using a private vehicle. The journey typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

The site is generally quiet and does not experience heavy crowds. It is best to visit during the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat, as much of the area is open to the elements. The dry season is the most favorable time for visiting the peninsula.
