Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
Discovering Indonesia in One Place
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a 100-hectare cultural park designed to showcase the diversity of the Indonesian archipelago. It features traditional houses, costumes, and customs from every province, allowing visitors to observe regional architecture and heritage in a single location. A central artificial lake contains islands shaped like the map of Indonesia, providing a geographical overview of the country.
Getting There
The park is located in East Jakarta. From the city centre, visitors typically use ride-hailing apps or taxis. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey generally takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Planning Your Visit
Due to the large scale of the grounds, allow at least one full day to explore the various pavilions and the lake area. Visitors who prefer a quicker overview may spend a half-day focusing on specific regions.
When to Visit
Arriving early in the morning is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The park often becomes crowded during national holidays and weekends. The weather is tropical, so visitors should be prepared for humidity and occasional rain throughout the year.
Nearby Attractions
The park can be combined with other local sites based on proximity:
- Indonesia Museum (0.6km)
- Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum (1.1km)
- Ragunan Zoo (8.6km)
- Setu Babakan (9.2km)
