Al-Rahmah Mosque

Overview

Al-Rahmah Mosque is a waterfront place of worship in Jeddah, built in 1985. The structure is recognized for its architectural composition of one central dome surrounded by 52 smaller domes, Islamic-style windows, and umbrella-shaped exterior features. Visitors go to view its coastal design and open courtyard facing the Red Sea.

Getting There

Located on the northern Corniche, the site is best reached by taxi or rideshare. The drive from central Jeddah takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. From King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED), expect a 15- to 20-minute drive south.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend 30 to 45 minutes walking around the perimeter and courtyards, or up to an hour if visiting the prayer hall.

When to Visit

Late afternoon offers cooler temperatures and good light. The area becomes crowded on weekends and during Friday midday prayers, which can cause traffic delays. The winter months between November and March are the most comfortable for outdoor visits.
