Eketė is the site of an ancient hillfort located on a hill by a tributary of the Dane River. Visitors go here to walk along nature trails that lead through forests and past calm reservoirs, where they can observe the remaining traces of the old settlement.
Getting There
The site is located outside the center of Klaipėda. Access is typically via car or bicycle. Depending on the mode of transport and traffic, the journey from the city center generally takes around 15 to 25 minutes.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk the trails, explore the hillfort area, and observe the surrounding landscape.
When to Visit
The area is best visited during the spring, summer, and autumn when the forest trails are most accessible. Morning or late afternoon visits provide the quietest experience. This location does not typically experience heavy crowds.
