Kiaulės Nugara

Kiaulės Nugara is a small island located in the Curonian Lagoon near the harbor of Klaipėda. Its name translates to "pig's back" in Lithuanian. Visitors go there primarily to observe the landscape of the lagoon and the surrounding maritime environment.

Getting There

The island is situated off the coast of the city center. Access requires a boat trip from the Klaipėda harbor area. Depending on the vessel and departure point, the transit time is typically short, though travelers should coordinate with local boat operators for transport.

Duration of Visit

Because of its small size, most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours on the island. This allows enough time to walk across the landmass and view the lagoon from different angles.

When to Visit

The island is best visited during the warmer months when boat transport is more readily available. Daytime visits are recommended for visibility of the lagoon. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the main city center attractions.
