Concrete Pedestrian Bridge above Lepenica

This reinforced-concrete bridge, constructed in 1927, spans the Lepenica River in downtown Kragujevac. It replaced an earlier wooden structure and serves as one of the earliest examples of reinforced-concrete bridge engineering in Serbia. Visitors go here to observe the architectural transition of the city and to walk along the river through the old town district.

Location and Access

The bridge is located within the city centre of Kragujevac. Because it is situated in the heart of the downtown area, it is accessible on foot from most central hotels and plazas. Depending on your starting point in the centre, the walk typically takes less than 10 minutes.

Visit Duration

As a pedestrian crossing and viewing point, this is a short stop. Most visitors spend between 15 and 30 minutes crossing the bridge and observing the surrounding riverbanks.

Timing Your Visit

The bridge is open to pedestrians at all times. It is best visited during daylight hours for better visibility of the concrete structure and the river. Like most central city landmarks, it can become more crowded during weekends or local public holidays.
