Collegium Maius

This 14th-century complex is the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University. It serves as a university museum where visitors can view historical academic artifacts and explore the architecture of one of Europe's oldest higher education institutions.

Getting There

The building is located in the heart of Kraków's Old Town. Since it is situated within the pedestrian zone, it is most easily reached on foot from the city centre. Depending on your starting point within the central district, the walk typically takes less than 10 minutes.

Time Requirement

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to tour the courtyard and the museum exhibits inside the museum. This provides sufficient time to observe the historical interiors and the university's collection without rushing.

When to Visit

Visiting during weekday mornings generally avoids the largest crowds. Like most central attractions in the Old Town, it can become crowded during peak tourist seasons in the summer and during university graduation periods. There are no specific seasonal restrictions for visiting the site.
