Apapa Amusement Park
Overview
Apapa Amusement Park is a 3.1-hectare recreational facility located in Lagos. Following extensive renovations and a reopening in 2015, the park provides an enclosed setting featuring a variety of mechanical rides, games, and outdoor spaces suitable for family outings.
Getting There
Situated in the Apapa district southwest of central Lagos, the site is accessible by car, taxi, or ride-hailing services. A trip from the city centre usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes, though heavy traffic and freight movement along the port corridor can increase travel times.
Recommended Duration
Plan to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours on-site to walk through the grounds and experience the rides at a steady pace.
When to Visit
The park draws large crowds on weekends, public holidays, and during school breaks, resulting in longer lines for popular attractions. Visiting on weekday afternoons generally offers a quieter experience. Because much of the grounds are outdoors, visiting outside peak midday heat and planning around the rainy season will be most comfortable.
Nearby Attractions
A visit can be combined with other locations in the vicinity:
- Ajegunle (1.7 km)
- Balogun Market (2.5 km)
- Union Bank Building (2.6 km)
- Shitta-Bey Mosque (2.7 km)
