Overview
Republic Square is Ljubljana's largest square and the historic site where Slovenian independence was declared in 1991. Positioned between the National Assembly and Cankar Hall, the open pedestrian area serves as a central civic space featuring modernist architecture.
Getting There
Located just west of the city centre, the site is a 5 to 10-minute walk from Prešeren Square and the Triple Bridge heading southwest past Congress Square.
