Mudam Luxembourg

Mudam is a museum of modern art situated in the Kirchberg district of Luxembourg City. It is built on the site of the former Fort Thüngen, integrating contemporary gallery spaces with historical fortifications. Visitors go here to view rotating exhibitions of modern art and contemporary art within a structure designed by architect I.M. Pei.

Getting There

The museum is located in the Kirchberg plateau, away from the historic city center. It is accessible via the city's public transport network, primarily by tram or bus. From the center, the journey typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Visit Duration

Depending on the number of temporary exhibitions currently on display, allow approximately 2 to 4 hours to explore the galleries and the surrounding site.

When to Visit

The museum is open year-round. To avoid larger groups, visiting on weekday mornings is generally quieter. The surrounding Kirchberg area is a hub for European Union institutions, so foot traffic may fluctuate based on local diplomatic schedules.
