Gate of Europe

What It Is

The Gate of Europe, known locally as Puerta de Europa, consists of twin office towers positioned across from each other at the northern end of Paseo de la Castellana. Visitors interested in modern urban architecture visit to observe their distinct symmetrical tilt and the plaza layout at this northern commercial hub.

Getting There

From central Madrid (such as Sol or Gran Vía), take the Metro directly to Plaza de Castilla station. The journey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, with station exits opening directly onto the public plaza adjacent to the buildings.

Time to Spend

Plan to spend around 20 to 30 minutes here. Because the towers function as private commercial office spaces, visits are focused on viewing and photographing the exterior structures and surrounding plaza from ground level.

When to Go

Daylight hours provide the clearest visibility for viewing the architectural angles. Mid-morning or early afternoon is best if you want to avoid pedestrian congestion, as the plaza and transit station experience heavy commuter traffic during weekday morning and evening rush hours.

Nearby Attractions

You can combine a visit here with a walk further north to see other modern high-rise buildings in the business area:

  • Torre Moeve (1km)
  • Torre PwC (1.1km)
  • Torre de Cristal (1.3km)
  • Emperador Castellana Tower (1.4km)
