Bihuroazu Kamanaa Mosque

This is one of the oldest mosques in Malé, serving as a historic religious site. Visitors go here to see the traditional architecture and the adjacent 16th-century sultan's mausoleum, which provides insight into the early Islamic history of the Maldives.

Getting There

The mosque is located within the central area of Malé. Because the city is small and compact, it is easily reachable on foot from most central points. Depending on your starting location in the city centre, the walk typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to view the mosque and the neighboring mausoleum. The site is relatively small, so a short visit is sufficient to see the primary structures.

When to Visit

Visit during the morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. As a functioning place of worship, avoid visiting during prayer times to respect the local community. The site can become crowded during religious holidays or Friday prayers.
