Pearl Roundabout

The Pearl Roundabout is a traffic circle located near the central financial district of Manama. Historically, it was the site of the Pearl Monument and served as the focal point for the 2011 pro-democracy protests. While the monument has since been demolished, the area remains a significant landmark for those interested in Bahrain's recent political history and urban development.

Getting There

The site is located within the city limits of Manama. From the city center locations, it is accessible via taxi or ride-sharing services. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 5 to 15 minutes.

Visit Duration

Because the monument is no longer standing and the site functions primarily as a traffic junction, visitors generally spend 15 to 30 minutes here to observe the area.

When to Visit

The location is outdoors and exposed to the elements. It is best to visit during the cooler winter months or in the early morning and late evening to avoid the midday heat. As it is situated in a busy financial district, the surrounding roads can become heavily crowded during weekday rush hours.

Nearby Attractions

The site can be combined with other nearby points of interest:

  • Abraj Al Lulu (0.3km)
  • Reef Island (1.1km)
  • Zinj (1.3km)
  • Sacred Heart Church (1.9km)
