Overview

Bahia Palace is a late 19th-century complex in Marrakech built by the era's viziers. Visitors come to observe traditional Moroccan architectural craftsmanship, including carved stucco, painted cedarwood ceilings, zellij tilework, and courtyards planted with citrus trees.

Getting There

Located on the southern edge of the Medina, it is a 10- to 15-minute walk southeast from Jemaa el-Fnaa. Taxis can drop passengers near Place des Ferblantiers, a short walk from the main gate.

Time to Allow

Plan for 45 to 90 minutes to tour the public courtyards, private apartments, and gardens.

When to Visit

The site regularly gets crowded with tour groups by mid-morning. Visiting early in the morning or around midday provides a quieter experience. In summer, morning visits help avoid peak daytime heat in the unshaded courtyards.
