Dar Si Said Museum
Dar Si Said Museum
Located in a late 19th-century palace, this site serves as the National Museum of Weaving and Carpets. Visitors go here to view a collection of traditional Moroccan textiles, including finely crafted carpets and woven fabrics, displayed within a historic architectural setting.
Getting There
The museum is situated within the Medina of Marrakech. From the city centre, it is most easily reached on foot via the narrow streets of the old city. Depending on your starting point in the centre, the walk typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the palace rooms and examine the textile exhibits.
When to Visit
Visiting in the morning is generally advisable to avoid the peak heat of the day and the largest crowds. Like many popular sites in the Medina, it can become crowded during the mid-day peak tourist hours.
Nearby Attractions
Because of its central location in the Medina, the museum can be combined with several other historic sites within walking distance:
- Tiskiwin Museum: 0.1km
- Bahia Palace: 0.2km
- El Badi Palace: 0.6km
- Jemaa el-Fnaa: 0.6km
