Ponta João d'Évora

Ponta João d'Évora is a coastal headland located on the northern shore of São Vicente island. Visitors go here to observe the natural coastline and the Atlantic Ocean from a protruding point of land. It is a site for nature observation and coastal walking.

Getting There

The headland is situated approximately 5 km northeast of central Mindelo. It can be reached by taxi or rental car from the city centre, typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions.

Duration of Visit

Depending on whether you intend to hike along the coast or simply view the scenery from the point, allow 1 to 2 hours for a visit.

When to Visit

The site is open to the elements, so visiting during the early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the midday heat. There are no official crowds, though it is more frequented during the peak tourist seasons in Cape Verde.
