Tropaeum Alpium

The Tropaeum Alpium is an ancient Roman victory monument located in La Turbie, situated on the heights above Monaco. Built around 6 BC, it commemorates Emperor Augustus's conquest of the Alpine tribes. The site marks the highest point of the Roman road crossing the Alps, offering historical insight into Roman military expansion and engineering.
