Our Lady of Victory Church

This church was commissioned by Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette and construction began in 1566. It was built as an offering to the Virgin Mary in gratitude for the victory during the Great Siege of Malta. Visitors go here to see one of the oldest churches in the region and to learn about the military history of the building commemorates.

Getting There

The church is located within the city center. Most visitors can reach it on foot from central meeting points within a few minutes, as it is situated in a walkable urban area.

Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to view the architecture and the interior of the building.

When to Visit

Morning visits are generally quieter. Like many religious sites in Malta, it can become crowded during local feast days or religious holidays. It is advisable to avoid visiting during scheduled mass if you wish to explore the space without interrupting services.
