Mount Mary Church
Overview
Mount Mary Church is a Roman Catholic basilica located on a hill in Mumbai's Bandra neighborhood. Travelers visit to view its Gothic Revival architecture and observe an active place of local Christian worship and pilgrimage.
Getting There
From the city centre in South Mumbai, a taxi or rideshare takes 45 to 80 minutes depending on traffic. You can also take a suburban train to Bandra Station, then take a 10-minute auto-rickshaw ride up the hill.
Time to Allow
Plan for 30 to 45 minutes to view the sanctuary and walk the surrounding grounds.
When to Go
Mornings and late afternoons are the most comfortable times to visit. Expect larger crowds on Sundays. During the annual Bandra Fair in September, the surrounding area becomes extremely crowded with heavy traffic restrictions.
