Nymphenburg Palace

This palace in Munich served as the summer residence for the Wittelsbach family, the former royal house of Bavaria. Visitors go here to view the royal architecture, the interior state rooms, and the extensive surrounding park and gardens.

Getting There

The palace is located west of the city centre. You can reach it using the Munich public transport system via tram or bus. The journey typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes depending on your starting point in the centre.

Time Allocation

Allow approximately 3 to 4 hours to visit. This provides enough time to tour the main palace interior and walk through the gardens and the canal area.

When to Visit

The gardens are most accessible during the spring and summer months. To avoid the largest crowds, arrive early in the morning. The site is a popular tourist destination and can become crowded during peak holiday seasons and weekends.
