Schleißheim Palace Complex
Located in Oberschleißheim near Munich, this site is a Baroque ensemble consisting of three separate palaces and their associated gardens. It served as a summer residence for the House of Wittelsbach. Visitors go here to see the architecture of the New Palace, the Old Palace, and the Lustheim palaces, as well as the expansive formal gardens.
Getting There
The complex is situated north of Munich city centre. It is accessible via the S-Bahn (suburban train) and a short bus ride or walk. The journey from the centre typically takes around 45 to 60 minutes.
Time Allocation
Due to the size of the grounds and the presence of three distinct buildings, allow at least 3 to 5 hours to walk through the gardens and visit the interiors of the palaces.
