Al Alam Palace
Al Alam Palace
Located in Muscat, this is the ceremonial palace of the Sultan of Oman. It is used for official functions and the reception of foreign heads of state and dignitaries. Because the interior is not open to the general public, visitors go here to view the architecture and the surrounding grounds from the exterior.
Getting There
The palace is situated in the Old Muscat area. From the city centre, it is accessible via taxi or rental car. The drive typically takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Time Allocation
Since the attraction is viewed from the outside, allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to walk around the perimeter and take photographs of the building and its gardens.
When to Visit
Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The area can become crowded with tour groups during the peak winter travel season. Visitors should dress modestly out of respect for the site's official status.

- Omani French Museum (0.3km)
