Taipei Guest House
Overview
The Taipei Guest House serves as an official state reception venue for foreign dignitaries and diplomatic events. Managed by Taiwan's foreign affairs authorities, the historic estate draws visitors interested in political history, well-preserved early 20th-century architecture, and manicured ornamental gardens.
Getting There
Situated in the city centre, the site is a 10- to 15-minute walk south from Taipei Main Station. Alternatively, take the MRT to NTU Hospital Station, where the entrance is a few minutes' walk away.
Visit Duration
Allow 45 to 90 minutes to view the reception rooms, explore the indoor historical exhibits, and walk through the exterior garden grounds.
When to Visit
Public entry is limited to designated open dates throughout the year. Morning visits are preferable to avoid long queues, as the grounds become noticeably crowded by early afternoon.
