Carev most
What It Is
Carev Most (Tsar's Bridge) is a 19th-century stone bridge near Nikšić, Montenegro. Protected as a national cultural monument, it spans the river plain but is no longer in active vehicular use. Travelers visit to view its masonry, walk across the arches, and view the open rural landscape.
Getting There
The bridge is located about 4 kilometers south of Nikšić city centre. Driving or taking a taxi takes roughly 10 minutes. Podgorica Airport (TGD) is the closest international airport, located about an hour's drive to the south.
Time to Spend
Plan for 20 to 45 minutes. This allows enough time to walk along the span, inspect the stone arches from ground level, and take photos.
When to Visit
Daylight hours are recommended, with morning or late afternoon providing the best light. The site rarely gets crowded, so visitors can expect a peaceful stop at any time of year.
