This fort was built in the 1650s during the 17th-century reign of Imam Sultan bin Saif. Its massive circular tower is striking, making it one of Oman's leading historical landmarks and well worth a visit.

One of the oldest mosques in Oman, located in the old town of Nizwa. Its intricately carved 16th-century mihrab is well preserved and well worth seeing.
