This small Orthodox church is built inside a natural cave south of Ohrid. Visitors go here to see the religious icons preserved on the interior walls and to experience a place of worship integrated into the rock formations.

Getting There

The church is located outside the main urban center of Ohrid. It is most easily reached by taxi or rental car. The drive from the city center typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Because of its small size and the focused nature of the site, allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to explore the interior and the immediate surroundings.

When to Visit

Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the midday heat, particularly during the summer months. The site generally does not experience the same level of crowding as the central churches in Ohrid.
