Deke Sokehs

Deke Sokehs is a mountainous peninsula located on the northern coast of Pohnpei Island. Formerly a separate island, it is now connected to the mainland via a causeway and mangrove wetlands. Visitors go here to observe the transition between rugged mountain terrain and the mangrove forests that line the narrow coastal channels.

Getting There

The peninsula is accessible from Palikir via local roads. Depending on the mode of transport and traffic, the drive typically takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes from the city center.

Allow between 2 to 4 hours to explore the causeway, walk through the mangrove areas, and view the mountain scenery.
