Overview

Portopí Lighthouse is an active maritime beacon located at the western end of the Port of Palma. Recognized as one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world and designated as a historic monument, it offers insight into centuries of regional seafaring history and provides views across the harbor.

Getting There

From central Palma, the site can be reached on foot, by local bus, or by taxi along the waterfront. Walking along the harbor promenade takes around 45 to 60 minutes, while taking public transit or driving takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Plan to spend roughly 30 to 45 minutes on-site to view the exterior architecture and take in the surrounding maritime scenery.

Late afternoon is well suited for a stop, avoiding intense midday heat in the warmer months while offering clear views across the bay. The location is generally quiet and rarely sees large tour groups or heavy crowds.
