Torre de Paraires
The Torre de Paraires is a historic watchtower located on the Portopí coast of Palma. Originally built to guard the guard the harbor, it later functioned as a quarantine station during epidemics. Visitors go here to view the Mediterranean Sea and the harbor from the top of the square tower and to walk around the surrounding coastal area.
Getting There
The tower is located on the outskirts of the city center. You can reach it via local bus or taxi from central Palma. The journey typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic and your starting point.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 45 to 90 minutes to explore the tower, climb to the viewpoint, and walk along the immediate coastline.
When to Visit
Late afternoon is a practical time to visit to avoid the midday heat and to see the changing light over the harbor. The site is generally less crowded than the main tourist hubs in the city center, though it can be busier during the summer months.
