Jangtsa Dumtseg Lhakhang

This Buddhist temple is located on a hill between the Paro and Dop Shari valleys. It is built in the form of a chorten, a structural style that is uncommon even within Bhutan. Visitors go here to see the specific Buddhist iconography associated with the Drukpa Kagyu tradition housed inside the shrine.

Getting there from Paro city centre typically involves a short drive or a walk up the hill, taking approximately 10 to 15 minutes depending on the mode of transport.

Planning Your Visit

Allow roughly 45 to 90 minutes to explore the temple grounds and view the interior artwork.

The temple is accessible throughout the year. To avoid the peak midday sun and potential crowds from tour groups, visiting in the early morning or late afternoon is recommended.
