Kanishka Stupa

Located at Shah-ji-ki-Dheri on the outskirts of Peshawar, this site marks the location of a massive Buddhist stupa constructed by King Kanishka of the Kushan Empire in the 2nd century. Visitors go here to see the archaeological remains and traces of one of the most significant ancient Buddhist structures in the region.

The site is accessible from Peshawar city centre via local transport or taxi. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes 20 to 30 minutes.
