Ko Ta Pu

Ko Ta Pu is a 20-metre tall limestone islet located in Phang Nga Bay, northeast of Phuket. It is a natural rock formation characterized by its narrow base and wider top, situated approximately 40 metres from the shores of Khao Phing Kan. Travellers visit this site to see the geological formation and the surrounding karst landscape of the bay.

Getting There

Access to the islet is only possible by boat. Visitors typically depart from piers in Phuket or nearby coastal towns via long-tail boats or speedboats. Depending on the departure point and the type of vessel used, the journey from the Phuket city area generally takes between 1.5 to 3 hours.

Duration of Visit

Most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours at the site. This allows time for boat transit around the islet and a short walk on the adjacent shores of Khao Phing Kan.

Timing and Crowds

The area gets crowded, particularly during the peak tourist season from November to April. To avoid the largest groups, arriving in the early morning is recommended. It is advisable to check local weather patterns to avoid heavy rain or rough sea conditions.
