Petrovka Nature Reserve

Petrovka is a valley nature reserve located north of Plzeň. It features a combination of pine forests and an ancient peat bog. Visitors go here to walk through a narrow gorge formed by water erosion and to see small caves along the trail.

The reserve is accessible from Plzeň city centre via local public transport or by bicycle. Depending on the mode of transport, the journey typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes.

Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk the main trails through the gorge and explore the forest areas.

When to Visit

The area is suitable for visits throughout the year, though the forest and bog landscapes change with the seasons. Morning visits are recommended for a quieter experience. This location does not typically experience the high crowds found in the city centre.
