Overview

The Basilica of St. Ludmila is a late 19th-century Neo-Gothic church on Mírové náměstí in Prague's Vinohrady district. Built to honor Saint Ludmila of Bohemia, the structure features two tall spires and distinctive brickwork. Travelers visit to view its exterior architecture and ecclesiastical art outside the main tourist areas.

Getting There

From central Prague, take metro Line A to the Náměstí Míru station, which exits directly onto the square. Travel takes 5 to 10 minutes by metro, or about 15 minutes walking from Wenceslas Square.

Time to Spend

Allow 20 to 30 minutes to view the exterior from the square and walk through the nave.

When to Visit

Daylight hours are best for viewing the facade and interior details. The site is rarely crowded with tourists, though local foot traffic increases around the square during morning and evening rush hours.
