Višegrad Fortress
Located in the Bistrica Gorge southeast of Prizren, this site is a mid-14th century fortress. Now existing as ruins, it serves as a historical point of interest for those interested in medieval fortifications and the regional history of Kosovo.
Getting There
The fortress is situated outside the main city center of Prizren. Visitors can reach the site via a short drive or a walk following the Bistrica river valley. The journey from the center typically takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes by vehicle.

Allow roughly 1 to 2 hours to walk through the ruins and explore the surrounding gorge area.
When to Visit
The site is best visited during the spring and autumn when temperatures are moderate for walking. Morning visits are recommended to avoid the midday heat. It generally does not experience the same level of crowding as the main city center attractions.
