Virgin of El Panecillo
The Virgin of El Panecillo is a large aluminum statue of the Virgin Mary situated on top of El Panecillo hill. Travelers visit this site primarily for the panoramic views of Quito, as the elevation provides a clear perspective of the city layout and the historic old town.
Getting There
The statue is located in the center of the city. Most visitors reach the summit via taxi or ride-sharing services from the city center, as the climb is steep. The trip typically takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours for a visit. This provides enough time to walk around the base of the monument, observe the city from the viewpoints, and explore the immediate surroundings of the hill.
