Ling Stream

Ling Stream is a natural waterway flowing through the hilly terrain of northern Punjab. It is primarily visited by those interested in nature watching and birding, as kingfishers are frequently observed hunting fish in the stream. The water is crossed twice by the main road connecting Islamabad and Azad Kashmir.

Getting There

The stream is located outside the main urban center of Rawalpindi. Travelers typically reach the site via car or taxi heading toward the Azad Kashmir road. Depending on the starting point in the city and traffic conditions, the drive generally takes between 45 to 90 minutes.

Duration of Visit

A visit of 2 to 3 hours is usually sufficient to observe the local wildlife and walk along the accessible banks of the stream.

When to Visit

The best time to visit is during the cooler months or early morning to increase the chances of spotting active birdlife. Visitors should be aware of seasonal rainfall in the region, which can affect water levels and road accessibility.
