Overview

The National Transport Museum is located in Bulgaria's first railway station building, constructed in 1866 on the Danube riverside. Visitors go to explore preserved railway carriages, steam engines, and historical transport exhibits in their original historical setting.

Getting There

The site sits along the riverbank in Ruse. Walking from the city centre takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes. A local taxi or short bus ride reaches the entrance in under 10 minutes.

Visiting Time

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to tour the indoor station rooms and view the vintage trains on the outdoor tracks.

When to Visit

Spring and autumn provide the best weather for walking between the outdoor exhibits. During summer, go in the morning to avoid direct heat on the tracks. The venue does not usually get crowded, allowing for unhurried visits.
