Nature
Praia de Cabral
Overview
Praia de Cabral is a natural beach on the northwestern coast of Boa Vista island in Cape Verde, situated just north of Sal Rei. Travellers visit primarily for coastal walks, quiet time along the ocean, and to view the historic old chapel located near the shore.
Getting There
From central Sal Rei, the beach is easily accessible on foot or by car. Walking takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes heading north along the coast, while a short drive takes around 5 minutes.
Time to Spend
Allow 1 to 2 hours for a standard visit that includes a stroll along the shoreline and seeing the chapel. If you intend to relax on the sand, budget half a day.
When to Visit
Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to visit to avoid intense midday sun and heat. The area generally does not get heavy crowds and stays relatively calm, though ocean winds can be strong depending on the weather.
