Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks consists of two hills located in the center of San Francisco. Visitors go here to access one of the highest vantage points in the city, providing a wide view of the downtown skyline and the surrounding bay.
Getting There
The peaks are located outside the immediate downtown core. From the city center, you can reach the summit via ride-share services, taxis, or public buses. The trip typically takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Duration of Visit
Most visitors spend between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours at the summit. This allows enough time to walk to the various lookout points and observe the city layout.
When to Visit
The area is prone to heavy fog and strong winds, regardless of the season, so bringing a jacket is recommended. It can get crowded during weekends and clear afternoons. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during weekday mornings.
Nearby Attractions
Because of its central location, you can combine a visit here with other neighborhoods. Nearby points of interest include:
- The Castro (1.5km)
- Pink Triangle Park (1.6km)
- Haight-Ashbury (2km)
- Mission San Francisco de Asís (2.3km)
