Cerro de Chena

Located on the outskirts of Santiago, this low hill serves as a natural recreation area. Travelers visit the site for easy hiking trails and wide views of the surrounding countryside and the city from the summit.

Getting There

The hill is situated south of the city center. Access from downtown Santiago is typically via taxi or ride-sharing services, taking approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Duration of Visit

Allow roughly 2 to 4 hours for a visit. This provides enough time to hike to the top, observe the panoramas, and return to the base.

When to Visit

The site is best visited during the spring and autumn when temperatures are moderate. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. Like many public natural spaces in the city, it can become crowded on weekends and public holidays.
