Yu Garden

Located in the heart of Shanghai's old town, this site is a classical garden designed in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Visitors go here to see traditional Chinese landscaping, which includes rockeries, ponds, and pavilions.

The garden is centrally located. From the city center, it is accessible via the Shanghai Metro. Depending on your starting point, the journey typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.

When to Visit

The site gets crowded, particularly during weekends and national holidays. To avoid the largest crowds, arrive early in the morning. Spring and autumn are generally the most temperate seasons for walking through the outdoor spaces.
