Overview

Prasat Bei is a small Hindu temple consisting of three brick towers built side by side on a shared platform, facing east. Travellers stop here to inspect early Khmer brick architecture and detailed sandstone lintels featuring the Hindu deity Indra mounted on an elephant.

Getting There

The site is located just south of the Angkor Thom south gate, approximately 8 to 10 kilometres north of central Siem Reap. Reaching it by tuk-tuk, taxi, or bicycle from downtown takes roughly 15 to 25 minutes.

Time to Allow

Because the complex is compact and partially in ruins, a visit generally requires only 15 to 30 minutes to view the towers and carved stone details.

When to Visit

Early morning offers the best lighting for viewing the facade, as the structures face east into the morning sun. Unlike larger monuments nearby, this site rarely draws large tour groups and remains uncrowded throughout the day.
