Porta Macedonia
Porta Macedonia
Porta Macedonia is a triumphal arch located in Pella Square. Completed in 2012, the monument serves as a landmark within the city's central district. Travelers visit the site to view its architecture and the reliefs depicting historical events as part of a walking tour of the city center.
Getting There
The monument is situated directly within the city center. It is accessible on foot from most central hotels and main plazas. Depending on your starting point in the downtown area, the walk typically takes between 5 and 10 minutes.
Time Requirement
Because this is an outdoor monument located in a public square, visitors generally spend 15 to 30 minutes here to observe the structure and take photographs.
When to Visit
The arch is accessible at all hours. Visiting during the evening allows you to see the structure when it is illuminated. Like most central landmarks in Skopje, the surrounding square can become crowded during weekends and summer months.
