Warrior on Horseback

The Warrior on Horseback is a large bronze equestrian statue located in the center of Macedonia Square. Mounted on a pedestal integrated with fountains, the monument was installed as part of the Skopje 2014 urban renewal project. Travelers visit this site to see one of the city's most prominent modern landmarks and to observe the architecture of the central square.

Getting There

The statue is located directly within the city center. Because it sits in the middle of Macedonia Square, it is accessible by foot from most central hotels and transit hubs. No additional transport is required if you are already in the downtown area.

Time Required

Visitors typically spend 15 to 30 minutes at the monument to view the statue and the surrounding fountains.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and accessible at all times. It can get crowded during weekends and public holidays when locals and tourists gather in the square. Visiting during the early morning or late evening provides a quieter experience.

  • Macedonia Square: 0km
