Overview

The Jadro is a Dalmatian river flowing into the Adriatic Sea. Its spring area is protected as a nature reserve, known for clear waters and a rare species of trout. It historically supplied water to Diocletian's Palace. Visitors come for a quiet walk along the riverbanks and to view the freshwater spring.

Getting There

The river is located near Solin, northeast of Split. Reaching it from Split city centre takes 15 to 20 minutes by car or taxi, or about 30 minutes by local bus.

Time to Spend

Allow 1 to 2 hours for a relaxed walk along the riverbank paths and around the spring.

When to Go

Spring to autumn offers the best walking conditions. In summer, visit in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. The area rarely sees heavy tourist crowds.
