Public Square, Split
Located just outside the western gate of Diocletian's Palace, this central square serves as a primary gathering point in Split's old town. It is a pedestrian area lined with cafes and shops, used by visitors to observe local life and take a break from sightseeing.
Getting There
The square is situated within the city centre. Since it is centrally located, it is accessible on foot from most major hotels and landmarks in the old town area. Depending on your starting point within the centre, it takes only a few minutes to reach.

Depending on whether you intend to sit at a cafe or simply pass through, allow 30 to 60 minutes to spend time in the square.
When to Visit
The square is open and accessible at all hours. It becomes crowded during the peak summer tourist season and in the evenings when locals and visitors gather at the outdoor seating areas. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during the early morning.
